Client Agreement

RK Shipman Ltd are Independent Financial Advisers, Mortgage and General Insurance Brokers. We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and we are bound by its rules and regulations. We are not tied to one company’s products (except for our Park Homes Scheme where a panel of insurers is used). Therefore, we are able to remain impartial when providing advice on and arranging; life assurance, pensions, investments and investments in authorised unit trusts and ISAs.

We are authorised to provide advice on pension transfer and opt-out business. We are also authorised to provide advice on regulated mortgage and general insurance business.

Advice

We offer independent financial advice but occasions may arise where we, or one of our other customers, will have some form of interest in business we are transacting for you. If this happens, or we become aware that our interests or those of one of our other customers conflict with your interests, we will inform you in writing and obtain your consent before we carry out your instructions.

For mortgage and general insurance mediation activities we offer products from a ‘Fair Analysis’ of the whole of market, with the exception of our Park Homes Scheme where business is placed with a panel of insurers.

Cost of our Services

For financial advice we charge fees, a combination of fees and commission and if you request it a commission option. We will discuss the options with you before you decide which option you prefer. Details of the costs of some savings and investments services are provided in our Keyfacts about the cost of our services document, which will be provided to you.

For general insurance business we charge a brokerage fee of £10 per policy. For our Park Homes scheme we do not take a brokerage fee. Full details will be provided to you in our Fee Agreement.

Complaints

If you have any complaint about a product or service provided by RK Shipman Ltd we have internal complaint handling procedures in place. A copy of these procedures can be supplied upon request. Please address your complaint to:
